The BMW’s engine range is more diverse. Diesel buyers can choose from either four-cylinder or six-cylinder engines – the smaller engines are the 518d, 520d and 525d, producing 150hp, 190hp and 218hp respectively. The six-cylinder lineup features either the 258hp 530d or 313hp 535d.
Its a detuned 530 with 181hp. They also make a 520d, 525d, 530d, 540d and 550d outside the US, altho the 530d is coming to the US but in the US it will be called the 540d. I believe that this detuned engine is the same one that is in the 530e. But, of course, in the 530e it is paired with an electric motor.
