The Necromancer is a profession that focuses on draining the life force from nearby deaths, using that life force to become a bringer of death, bring fear into your enemies, and corrupt enemy boons into harmful conditions. Weapons of the Necromancer include Staff, an Axe, main and offhand Daggers, a Scepter, a Focus, and a Warhorn.

Let's say we get spears. The "Spearmastery" line would be the new e-spec available for all classes. But everyone uses them differently because of the other 2 trait lines and the class specific weapon skills. It's easier to create one good "e-spec" design that can be used on all classes, instead of 9 different specs where 7 are simply uninspired.
